    Mainframe Studios is a nonprofit in downtown Des Moines, Iowa. We aim to be a lasting space where artistic expression is cultivated, protected, and celebrated.

    Our Mission is to provide affordable arts workspace and foster creative communities in central Iowa.

    Applications must align with Mainframe’s mission & vision, and demonstrate a professional practice.

    Application Process

    Purpose
    Pre-lease applications help us learn more about your studio needs. Artists are able to request their desired studio size and share other details that enable them to create.

    *Note that our building is usually fully occupied. We have a waitlist of around 100 artists, and applicants can expect to be waiting for space for 6+ months.

    Modern amenities, 24/7 access, basic fiber wifi connection, general liability insurance, security camera monitoring & more. As a Mainframe tenant you will also have access to a fantastic community of creatives!

Studio Space Application

Please Note: Our building is usually fully occupied, and wait time have increased significantly. Applicants can expect to wait at least six months to one year for movement into the building. Spaces smaller than 350 sq ft may have a much longer wait.
